Arm Pain Treatment

When you have a painful condition that affects your arms, it can be difficult to perform routine and simple tasks. Just getting dressed can be painful as you maneuver your arms into clothing. There are many different issues that can cause arm pain. Finding the source of the pain is the first step in determining the right treatment plan. At Medici Orthopaedics & Spine, we offer diagnosis and treatment for acute and chronic arm pain at our clinics in the Atlanta area.

Causes of Arm Pain

There is a long list of possible health conditions and injuries that can cause arm pain. The most obvious is strain or injury from overuse or trauma. Muscles, ligaments and tendons in the arm, as well as bone and cartilage, can be damaged and cause pain. Injury pain is usually sudden and can be linked to heavy use or trauma. However, some arm pain is not as easy to determine the source. Other causes of arm pain include:

  • Fibromyalgia
  • Nerve damage
  • Tendonitis
  • Joint dislocations
  • Rotator cuff injury
  • Spinal (cervical) conditions
  • Carpel tunnel syndrome
  • Neuropathy, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS)

Some causes of arm pain are not located in the arm. Serious cardiovascular events like heart attacks can also cause arm pain. Pain can be a result of nerve impingement or compression in the shoulder or neck. To determine the cause of your arm pain, you need a thorough examination and diagnostic testing to pinpoint the source of your symptoms.

At Medici Orthopaedics & Spine, our clinics are equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic tools to help our pain physicians diagnose all types of conditions, including the cause of arm pain. Once a diagnosis is made, we can create a treatment plan to address the source of your pain and give you relief. Exploring these related conditions helps us build a more accurate diagnosis and a more effective treatment plan tailored to your needs.

What our patients say

Kevin Madden

Love Dr. Sonny and his practice. I appreciate the time he takes with me. I would rather him run late and take his time with me than rush me through. Pain is not something that’s a pleasure to deal with. I appreciate his knowledge and compassion. The surgical center is great too. Their staff is so caring! Thank you Dr. Sonny!

Dr. Sonny and his staff are incredibly compassionate. They offer solutions that promote healing and support a healthy lifestyle. I trust them because I see the results in my life but mostly because they care. They know me by name. I cannot recommend this practice enough.
