Ashley Wilson is a Physical Therapist Assistant with a background in clinical massage therapy, known for her patient-first, hands-on approach to healing.
Ashley Wilson’s path to physical therapy began with a deep understanding of the body — and an even deeper understanding of people. With a background in clinical massage therapy, she spent years developing her tactile intuition, learning how muscles respond to pressure, movement, and pain. But over time, she craved a broader scope — a way to help patients not just feel better temporarily, but truly recover and rebuild.
That calling led her to complete a three-year Physical Therapist Assistant program, combining her manual therapy background with the clinical framework of physical rehabilitation. Today, she’s part of Medici’s therapy team, where she helps patients regain strength, mobility, and confidence — without relying on medication or rushed care.
Ashley is known for her vibrant energy and genuine drive to connect with others. She has a genuine curiosity about what motivates each patient. Whether she’s working with someone recovering from a car accident, managing chronic pain, or rebuilding strength post-surgery, her first priority is understanding the why behind their goals.
“If I know what drives someone — to pick up their grandchild again, to get back on the golf course, or just to walk to the mailbox — I can tailor everything around that.”
At Medici, where each 45-minute session includes 30 dedicated minutes of one-on-one time, Ashley has the space to connect on a deeper level with her patients. That time matters — because healing isn’t just about muscles and movement; it’s about understanding the whole person.
Ashley’s treatment approach blends neuromuscular and myofascial techniques with strengthening and mobility work, creating personalized sessions that evolve alongside her patients. Her massage therapy background gives her an edge in detecting subtle tension patterns others might miss — allowing her to adapt treatment in real time for greater relief and long-term progress.
She works in close collaboration with Medici’s physical therapist, carefully following each plan of care while bringing her own hands-on insight, intuitive touch, and clinical adaptability to every session. From manual therapy and exercise to functional training and movement re-education, Ashley is committed to restoring ability — not just reducing pain.
Whether she’s working with the elderly, athletes, or anyone in between, Ashley’s goal remains the same:
To be a partner in healing — someone who listens, adapts, and helps patients move forward, one step at a time.
Ashley has walked alongside patients through some truly remarkable transformations — including a woman who came in after a serious injury, unsure if she’d ever return to her career. Together, they rebuilt strength, mobility, and confidence. That patient eventually walked back into her profession — not just recovered, but stronger than ever.
It’s stories like these that remind Ashley why she chose this path:
“I want my patients to feel heard, valued, physically relieved — and most of all, hopeful.”
She believes in seeing past the mental walls patients sometimes build around their pain — and helping them uncover what’s still possible when they feel truly supported.
Her personal philosophy aligns seamlessly with Medici’s mission:
To restore each patient’s quality of life in a way that’s compassionate, drug-conscious, and deeply personal.
Helping patients regain strength and confidence, Ashley is also nurturing a deeply creative life. A singer-songwriter with roots in Atlanta’s music scene, she’s shared space—and stages—with inspiring talent including the Indigo Girls, John Mayer, and members of Sugarland. Her music, like her therapy, is all about connection, resilience, and staying real.
At home, Ashley’s passions include gardening, growing heirloom vegetables like Purple Cherokee tomatoes, and tackling DIY projects that let her work with her hands and her imagination. And yes — she even has a sourdough starter named Carl, born during the 2020 lockdown and still going strong.
Her life philosophy shows up in everything she does, from therapy sessions to creative pursuits:
“Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.”
That spirit of grounded encouragement is exactly what makes Ashley such a strong presence at Medici. She meets each patient right where they are — with a plan, a purpose, and the belief that something better is possible.
